Alesha Dixon Ends 18-Year Relationship with Azuka Ononye: "More Like Friends Than Lovers"

Sources close to the couple revealed that their relationship had "fizzled out," leaving them feeling more like companions than lovers. Despite often referring to Azuka as her "husband," the two were never officially married.

An insider shared with The Sun: “Alesha's been quietly telling people close to her that she believes their relationship is over and they’re going to separate. She and Azuka have been together almost two decades, but their relationship has become more like a friendship.”

Co-Parenting for Their Daughters

The former couple has committed to maintaining an amicable partnership to co-parent their daughters, Azura Sienna and Anaya Safiya, harmoniously.

While Alesha last posted a photo with Azuka in June, the pair’s last red carpet appearance together was over a year ago in July 2023.

A Love That Started with Care

The two met in 2006 when Azuka worked as a dancer on Alesha's tour. Their relationship grew stronger after he cared for her during a tough time when she suffered a broken foot. Reflecting on the beginning of their romance during The Jonathan Ross Show, Alesha admitted: “I was kind of playing hard to get for about a year.”

Despite their split, Alesha and Azuka are focused on putting their children’s wellbeing first as they navigate this new chapter in their lives.
